The channel owned by Canadian media conglomerate Pelmorex is a 24×7 Weather news network. The Ontario based specialty channel targets the weather around North America and the world around it. Pelmorex owing to its multi lingual licence broadcasts the channel in both English and French. A separate 24 hour Feed is aired on the French sibling MétéoMédia – the French language component of the Weather Network. Pelmorex is co-owned by Pierre L. Morrissette and the American Specialty brand “The Weather Channel”. TWN is carried and supplied by digital cable and direct broadcast satellite as it falls in the Category A of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission. The channel has staffed its own meteorologists for the forecasts of fair, cold, warm, sunny, rainy, cloudy, fogy and humid; predictions about monsoons, flooding, hurricanes, tsunamis, typhoons, tornadoes, winds and win pressures, dust storms, ice storms and blizzards and their effects in the region.
The Network provides and updates the viewership with forecasts, reports, traffic updates, severe weather alerts, insider insights, and special programming to inform the domestic households. The latest news is continuously there for the audiences as the weather changes in no time. The travel, ski and snowboarding conditions are on the devices just by a click, touch and swipe.
The Weather Network is available on satellite and digital platforms like which include WeatherEye- a free app for PC and Mac. WeatherEye HD has compatibility with BlackBerry PlayBook and iPad. Another service used by the network is WeatherDirect which uses e-mail and text messaging to send forecasts. The weather Network HD launched in the mid of 2011 is available on MTS, Rogers Cable, EastLink, Shaw Cable and Cogeco. The meteorologists employed by the single genre channel use Pelmorex Forecast Engine (PFE) and PMX technology to generate local forecast systems. The tools are in the in-house properties used to generate the forecasts and display the warnings in the case of climatic catastrophes and harsh weather forecasts for the audiences of The TWN.
The forecasts provided by the channel can be have on mobile, web, TV, and desktops, helping the Canadians read listen and read the weather to set their routines and day to day schedules. The Weather Network also provides the commercial services and solutions for the sectors such as energy, media, transportation and media. With all due credits TWN marks the no#1 place when it comes to weather targeted content and information and is no parallel both in severe and favorable WEATHERS until it dissolves or merges itself.
